Memory

How Goldfish organizes what it captures, along a time axis and an entity axis.

Everything captured is deduplicated and stored in a local database, then organized along two axes.

Chronicle: the time axis

Summaries of activity per hour, day, week, month, and year. The chronicle powers “what did I do yesterday” style questions and the daily briefs.

Wiki: the entity axis

Automatically maintained pages on the people, projects, companies, tools, and topics in your life. The wiki powers “who is X” and “what’s the state of project Y” questions. The memory map in chat visualizes it as a constellation, and the pages are editable in Settings under Memory.

Follow-ups

Open loops, commitments, and unanswered questions Goldfish spots in your activity, retrievable in chat: “what am I forgetting to answer”.

Time tracking

An on-device time ledger with project rules, for example “count github.com/acme as Project Acme”. Rules apply retroactively, and daily or weekly reports are one chat question away.

Identity

A durable profile of who you are: your preferences, goals, and communication style. Goldfish uses it to write in your voice. It is editable in Settings under Identity.
