Voice dictation

Hold the dictation key and speak. Release to insert clean, punctuated text.

Hold the dictation key and speak; release to insert clean, punctuated text into whatever field has focus. Turn dictation on and pick the key in Settings under Shortcuts.

Hands-free mode

Two ways to latch the microphone so it stays open without holding the key:

• Double-tap the dictation key.
• Add left Control while holding the key.

Either one also sends the text when you are done. Press the dictation key again to release.

Dictation and edit mode

Dictation feeds edit mode too: hold the Goldfish key with dictation enabled and speak the instruction instead of typing it. Details are on the Edit mode page.
