Claude and other AI clients

Connect AI clients to Goldfish's memory over MCP.

Goldfish runs a local MCP (Model Context Protocol) server, so AI clients like Claude Desktop can search your memory with permission. Ask Claude “what was I working on last Tuesday” and it can answer from your Goldfish memory, the same memory the Goldfish chat uses.

Automatic setup

Goldfish registers itself automatically with supported clients, including Claude Desktop, Cursor, and Claude Code. Install Goldfish, restart the AI client, and the Goldfish tools show up on their own.

Manual setup

The manual connection command is in Settings under MCP, with a Copy button. Add it to any client that can run a local (stdio) MCP server: the type is stdio and no arguments are needed.

Managed enterprise Claude installs block automatic registration, so they need the manual route: paste the connection command into the client’s MCP settings.

What the client can do

Connected clients can search everything Goldfish has captured and read the summaries of your activity. Everything runs locally: the MCP server lives on your device and accepts connections only from your own machine.
